PreNatal Massage

What is PreNatal Massage?

While a massage does not promise that your newborn will sleep through the night, it can provide you with a better night of sleep during and after pregnancy.

Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care, regular massages not only help to diminish aches and pains but, the hormones (serotonin,  endorphins and dopamine) released by your body in response to massage provide an extra balance of those natural chemicals that can get haywire during pregnancy.

During pregnancy, regular prenatal massages may not only help you relax, but may also relieve insomnia, joint pain, neck and back pain, leg cramping, and sciatica. It can reduce swelling in your hands and feet (as long as that swelling isn’t a result of preeclampsia), relieve carpal tunnel pain, and alleviate headaches and sinus congestion — common pregnancy problems. Massage may also lift depression, caused by hormonal changes, without the use of medication, according to some scientific studies.
